Marsh Creek Site 3
Conclusion

Although our survey consisted of 3 short weeks, we were able to view and conduct a survey for future data collections and an initial set of values to compare to and view changes to the watershed over time. Marsh Creek Site 3 was very unique compared to the other sites where data was collected. The results reflect the fact that the historic home has been maintained as an actual residence to this day and is taken care of. While initial results show that the levels are within acceptable or healthy range, caution must be taken in the future to maintain these healthy levels. A unique observation with this site is that while levels were normal during a dry spell, the levels elevated after rainfall. The runoff from upstream and the surrounding creek could play a significant role in the future of the stream. If the land were to receive a significant rainfall, it is without a doubt that the bacterial numbers will elevate due to runoff. More importantly, perhaps, is that the trees along the bank would fall into the stream bed therefore blocking the current path and creating a new one while also flooding the area. Caution must be taken and restoration methods should be used on the bank to in order to maintain the beauty of the site.
